What is Korean-style Skincare

What is Korea-style skincare? Which cosmetic brands to choose?  Korean cosmetics are becoming increasingly popular worldwide, with hundreds or even thousands of brands available in various stores globally. Many girls are embracing the multi-step skincare routine, and K-beauty trends are gradually taking over the world. However, with this surge in popularity comes a growing number of counterfeit products, low-quality items, and unreliable information about skincare and cosmetics. As a result, consumers find it increasingly challenging to choose the right, reliable, high-quality, and original products.  Unfortunately, a significant portion of people lack knowledge about skincare and struggle to select products tailored to their skin type. This can lead to suboptimal results or, in the worst-case scenario, skin issues such as breakouts, dryness, flakiness, disruption of the skin's hydrolipidic balance, and more. To avoid these problems and not waste money on ineffective or unsuitable

One day trip to the past or Baekje Festival

I have had no voice for 3 days now, I take medicine, but it doesn’t help. And since I can’t talk, I decided to express my thoughts in a post. Better yet, I’ll share with you one of my latest travels. I have more than 500 photos on my phone from this trip. And this is another quest to choose the best photos. Last week in Korea there was the Baekje Festival, in honour of one of the very first states on the Korean Peninsula. So my friends and I went to the city where this state used to be located. The scale of the festival was terrific. The holiday atmosphere was felt in every corner of the city. And it seemed we were transported several centuries ago to that same state of Baekje. First, let me introduce you to this cute magical beast. In the old days, such an animal stood at the entrance to houses, as well as in the tombs of kings. People believed that it protected against evil spirits. That’s why we met this animal at the festival. He defended the festival. The festival took place in t

International beauty exhibition InterCharm 2023

This is probably one of the largest beauty exhibitions after the pandemic. Wednesday Walk to the Ramyun Cafeteria?

Happy Wednesday! It is time for a Wednesday walk! :) It is the first Wednesday walk this month :) Have you ever heard about Korean instant noodles? One of the most popular brands is called nonshin and they are producing a so-called shinramyun. And they opened a pop-up store in Seoul to celebrate their new type of ramyun and collaboration with zepeto. I am not familiar with zepeto. I don't really know what it is. Nope. I didn't know what it is until I visited the pop-up store. Well, actually they call it a cafeteria, but I think it is a store :) It is located in Seoul, and it takes around 20mins by metro and 1 hour to walk from my place. I decided to walk there, and I started regretting it after 5 mins. Why? Because it was freezing cold outside, and I had to cross the river, and on the riverside it was terrible! But since I already started walking and I was too lazy to search for the nearest bus station or subway station, I kept walking :) Sorry, it was too cold and I didn'

Happy Lunar New Year!🐇

Let me take you to the last Wednesday walk this month! It is freezing cold here. I don't remember such a cold winter here in Korea. And if the forecast says it is above 0C outside, don't trust it. In Korea, it always feels much colder! So, I want to take you to the Lantern festival and New Year market! In many countries, you call it a Christmas market and it goes on in December, but here in Korea we have it at the end of January. Why? Because January 22nd was a Lunar New Year here. And it is more important to Koreans than Christmas. However, it doesn't matter how do you call it. The important thing is the magic that you can feel here! I went there after lunch before the sunset, and it wasn't as marvellous as it was at night. You can see it for yourself. Just compare the next 2 photos! So, I decided to go to the museum which is located on the opposite side of the road and to come to the festival later... You know, when I came here back later at night, I thought I came t

Christmas mood and Christmas market

Today we will go to the Christmas market in my district. It takes around 15 minutes of walking to get here. If be honest, they started installing Christmas decorations here at the end of October. So, we started waiting for Christmas for more than a month. And the interesting thing is that when you are surrounded by all those Christmas signs, you start feeling the Christmas vibes. And yes, I have had a Christmas mood since October. I even took out my Christmas cup (which I broke yesterday, so no photos of it...) Anyways, let's look around. I took lots of photos but can't share them because in most photos I have people's faces. And I can't share their pictures without permission, some law issues here. I think that place reflects the 'Alice in wonderland story, or maybe any other magic story. There is something like a labyrinth decorated with lights.  And in the centre, there is a huge Christmas tree with hundreds of lights and Christmas tree balls. You can go inside

A Visit to National Hangeul Museum

I love museums! Because they can tell you a lot of interesting historical facts. Also, museums can help people to understand the culture of that country better. And sometimes, nope almost always, you can learn something new, even if you already have been to that museum before. Hangeul means the Korean alphabet, so the museum is dedicated to the Korean alphabet. About National Hangeul Museum The National Hangeul Museum has opened its doors on October 9th 2014. It is an Hangeul Day in Korea. The museum is located in Seoul close to the National Museum of Korea. And there is a park zone around the museum. There are 5 floors in the museum and 3 of them are museum exhibition halls. You know almost every museum in Korea has a kids zone. It can be a special exhibition hall or a playing learning zone. And I think it is really cool! So kids don’t get bored, they can play and they can learn at the same time. Hall with Korean folk songs for children We started our excursion from the top floor, and

Admission to a Korean university from A to Z

Let's talk today about admission to a Korean university or university. Many people are afraid of this question. It seems to be very complicated and confusing. But really, nothing is impossible. You just need to figure out what's what. Let's start in order. Admission to a Korean university for international students First of all, I note that Korean students and foreign students enter separately. And the recruitment for local students takes place under completely different conditions and at a different time. I also note that it is much easier for foreign students to enter a university in Korea than for Koreans themselves. I will tell you about how the process of admission of local students to the university goes next time. Today we will focus on international students. To make it clearer, I will make this article in Q&A style. I hope you feel more comfortable this way. Main questions about admission The process of entering a university is almost the same in all universiti

Jeonju Fans Cultural Center

Do you remember our digital trip to Jeonju traditional village?! Today I want to take you there again and show you another unique place. It is a Fan Cultural Center. Intro Fans are a part of Korean culture and traditions. People use them for ages. Fans were a part of daily life, a part of the culture, a part of history. People used fans to protect themselves from the hot summer. Also, fans were a part of the performance. Many people had and have fans at home as interior decoration. And of course, fans are a part of fashion. Fan Cultural Center The cultural centre is located inside the Jeonju Hanok Village , so the building design reminds hanok. Actually, that atmosphere helps to feel the culture deeper. The fan cultural center is not so large, but here you can find a small exhibition corner, you can try to make a fan by yourself, and you can learn more about fan history and culture. Fans types Fans have different shapes and designs. The design tells which region the fan is from. Genera
