Getting Closer to Korean Aviation

It was a while since I took you with me on my trips around Korea. I have lots of photos, notes, and emotions that I want to share with you. And today I want to show you one of the museums, that I visited a couple of weeks ago. It is a National Aviation Museum of Korea that opened its doors just in July 2020. National Aviation Museum of Korea The museum is located in Seoul, right near the Gimpo Airport. So, if you will be around the Gimpo Airport, and have free time, visit the museum. It is free of charge, except for different activities that you can try in the museum. But most of them are not so expensive, around $1-3. At the entrance to the museum, you will meet a cute plane robot. It has a name but I don’t really remember… The museum looks small from the outside, however, there are 3 floors full of different exhibitions, rest zones, etc. 1st Floor of the museum We started from the very 1st floor. It is the largest hall I think. It starts with a history of world aviation. Visitors can

Saranchae Museum or Museum of Korean presidents

If you   visit Cheong Wa Due, Blue House , you should check the Saranchae Museum too. It is located in front of the Cheong Wa Dae. And it is free of charge. Saranchae history The building  was originally used as the official residence of the Chief of Staff of the President . After January 21, 1968 incident, the road in front of the Blue House and Mt. In February 1996, the road in front of the Blue House was opened and it was converted into a facility to provide convenience to the public and opened as a Sarangbang in Hyoja-dong. The existing Sarangbang in Hyoja-dong was reconstructed into two stories above ground and one basement and opened in January 2010 as the Blue House Sarangchae. On the first floor,

[Special Exhibition] Masterpieces of Korean Art

I hope you like the art because today's post is dedicated to Korean art. Today I will show you an exceptional exhibition I really wanted to see. And I will tell you how much effort I put into visiting it! Intro I am sure you have heard about the Korean company Samsung. Probably, you have heard that the company's chairman passed away 2 years ago. After his death, a significant part of his art collection was donated to the Korean government. And now part of this collection is exhibited in the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) located in Seoul. Peach Blossom Spring, 1922 (Lee Sang Beom) How to visit the exhibition The entrance to the exhibition of the Lee Kun Hee collection is free of charge. However, there is another problem. A queue. People come to the museum before it opens and stand in line. The waiting queue for the ticket usually takes around 2 hours. And even when you get your tickets, it is not the right time to celebrate, because there is another 1-2-h

Seoul City Wall Museum

I think around 5-10 years ago I wasn't a big fan of museums or history. I don't mean that it wasn't interesting to me at all, but I wouldn't run to the museum when I can go to the park or somewhere else.  But now whenever I see a museum that I haven't visited yet, I add it to my wish list! Even if it is a very small museum with a couple of exhibitions I can spend there at least an hour. Why? What I am doing there? The answer is easy.  I am learning history! Today I want to take you to the Seoul City Wall Museum, and before entering the museum, let me briefly tell you about Seoul City Wall. Intro The old name of Seoul was Hanyang, and that is why in the Korean language that museum is called Hanyang City Wall Museum. There was a wall around the city, and that wall was protecting the city from enemies.  Of course, most parts of the wall were ruined during the wars and stayed in history. So, today it is a part of tourist attractions. Hanyang city was selected as the cap
