Temple of God of mercy or where our desires can be heard

Temple of God of mercy or where our desires can be heard. It is one of the most popular Buddhist Temples in Busan. I send everyone warm spring greetings from South Korea. Now the whole world is in a terrible pandemic of the coronavirus, and many countries are isolated. People are sitting at home and going out is not so easy. In South Korea, despite the sudden outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, here is no mandatory home quarantine. More precisely, quarantine was prescribed only for those who had just arrived in the country. But I didn’t want to talk about the virus today. Today I suggest you take a virtual trip to one of the most unusual temples in South Korea, which was built in 1376. “You will receive an answer to at least one of your desires through sincere prayers”  … This is the motto of the Yonggungsa temple . So the choice of our current tourist destination is not accidental. The history of mankind has always been intertwined with the sea. Sometimes the sea is quiet and

May 8th, 2022. Happy Birthday, Buddha!

May 8th, 2022 Today is May 8th, and today is Buddha's Birthday. Each year the date is different because it determines by the Lunar Calendar. But the interesting fact is that   this year   Buddha's birthday is on the same day as Parent's Day   in Korea. And, in many other countries, today is Mother's Day! So, I want to wish all the best to all parents and mothers in the world! Please, be healthy, be happy, and be with us! I didn't plan to write that post, but many people asked me about Buddha's birthday, and why people celebrate it on such large scales. I already showed you lanterns in the Bongensa temple, but I still didn't edit the video from the Lantern parade. But I will show you a couple of videos from the Lantern concert.  You can find more videos on the  playlist . And I will try to finish the video from the Lantern Parade as soon as possible. About the holiday Buddha's Birthday is an official holiday that was established to commemorate the birth o

Lantern Festival in Seoul 2022

This year is the 2566th Birthday of Buddha . And after 3 years, I guess, South Korea holds a very big, cheerful, and stunning celebration. Every year there was a lantern festival that starts before the Buddha's birthday in South Korea. And the whole country is decorated with thousands or maybe millions of lanterns.  Some of you may say  'I am not a Buddhist, so it's not for me' . I am not a Buddhist too. But I think it doesn't matter which religion you belong to. The thing that matters is what is inside you, your soul, your feelings. I like the Buddha's Birthday because of the peaceful atmosphere that it brings, because of its vibes, and because of all the beauty, it shows.  Due to COVID-19, we didn't have big performances for Buddha's birthday, but this year we celebrate Buddha's birthday almost for a month! And today I will show the smallest piece of it. A week ago there was a lantern parade and later performance in Seoul . But I think I should d

Do you remember that I had a day trip a couple of weeks ago? I started with Seosan city then visited International Tulip Festival , and in the end, I have been to Ganwoldo. And I will tell you about that beautiful place now. About Ganwoldo Ganwoldo is an island with an area of 0.88 km2, a coastline of 11 km, and a highest point of 70m. And it belongs to Seosan city. It was a small island located in Cheonsu Bay, but it is now land, not the sea, due to a large-scale reclamation project in 1984. First of all, there is an amazing view. Despite on wind, I enjoyed each minute spent there. One of the main attractions here is a Ganwolam Welcome to Ganwolam If you go to Ganwol-do, you can meet a mysterious and beautiful hermitage floating on the water. There is a baby island in Ganwol-do. This little island is open twice a day at high tide and low tide, about 30m long, and becomes an island and land. On this palm-sized island, there is a small-sized Ganwolam. A story of Ganwolam Ganwoldo means
