What is Korean-style Skincare

What is Korea-style skincare? Which cosmetic brands to choose?

Korean cosmetics are becoming increasingly popular worldwide, with hundreds or even thousands of brands available in various stores globally. Many girls are embracing the multi-step skincare routine, and K-beauty trends are gradually taking over the world. However, with this surge in popularity comes a growing number of counterfeit products, low-quality items, and unreliable information about skincare and cosmetics. As a result, consumers find it increasingly challenging to choose the right, reliable, high-quality, and original products.

Unfortunately, a significant portion of people lack knowledge about skincare and struggle to select products tailored to their skin type. This can lead to suboptimal results or, in the worst-case scenario, skin issues such as breakouts, dryness, flakiness, disruption of the skin's hydrolipidic balance, and more.

To avoid these problems and not waste money on ineffective or unsuitable products, I will share some key facts about the Korean multi-step skincare routine, along with a couple of products that can genuinely take care of your skin.

Korean multi-step skincare routine

Firstly, let's explore what the Korean multi-step skincare routine entails:

  • Cleansing
  • Cleansing + Moisturizing
  • Targeted and Active Care
  • Eye Area Care
  • Nutrition

No, it's not a typo. Skin cleansing involves 2 or sometimes even 3 stages. Initially, makeup is removed using cleansing oil or balm. Then, a deeper cleansing of the skin is done using a foam or gel cleanser. Once or twice a week, more intensive products like peels can be incorporated, depending on your skin's condition and type.

Next, the skin is toned using a toner, eliminating any remaining dirt and cleansing product residues. Using moisturizing toners is advisable as they not only cleanse the skin but also hydrate it.

Now that our skin is prepared for hydration, it's time to apply an essence. Every skin type benefits from hydration.

Following this, targeted care for specific skin issues or goals should be addressed. Whether dealing with acne, dryness, wrinkles, or improving skin tone, serums or ampoules are recommended for their concentrated formulation, providing more effective results. Examples include serums for anti-aging, brightening, or acne treatment.

The eye area requires special attention due to its thin and sensitive skin. Fine lines around the eyes can make you look older, so selecting and regularly using an eye cream is crucial. Brands like OHui, Dr. Ceuracle, Dr. Jart, Cosrx, Innisfree, Manyo, and Skin1004 offer popular options.

Finish the skincare routine with a face cream. Face cream contributes to nourishing the skin. Is it necessary to apply cream if you've already applied a serum? Yes. Primarily because the cream prevents rapid evaporation of the serum from the facial skin. In other words, more of the serum will be absorbed into your skin rather than evaporating.

You can use a cream from one of the brands mentioned earlier, possibly even from the same product line.

Currently, I am testing a collagen cream from Nowater, and so far, I really like it. The cream has a unique pudding-like texture. Additionally, it quickly absorbs and provides long-lasting hydration, which is particularly important for me when choosing a face cream. I got my one in Korea, but you also can order it on Amazon.

The collagen face cream is the second product I tried from that brand. I learned about that brand when I saw a peeling mask with collagen, which you don't need to wash off. And I was amazed by its effect.

Before this, I tried a jelly cream from Innisfree. It didn't suit me well, as it led to breakouts and redness on my skin after use.

When choosing skincare products, don't forget to examine the ingredients. It's essential not only to select high-quality products but also to ensure that the components of different products don't conflict with each other. As it's no secret, not all components can be combined. It's similar to incompatible food products. For example, you know what can happen if you eat cucumbers and then drink milk.

So, it's important not only to care for your skin correctly but also to choose products wisely.

I hope this article was helpful. Next time, I'll share about the cosmetics that I like and don't like.

Who doesn’t like to have fun? Of course, everyone likes to chill outside instead of studying or working. Especially, when it is a golden fall season and the weather is perfect to stay outside. But, unfortunately, some people can’t go out and take a rest. I am talking about high school students, who are going to graduate soon. Seokchon Lake, Seoul Every year in the mid of November Korean high school students have graduation exams or something like an SAT exam in the US, or a Unified State Exam (USE) in Russia. It is a national exam, which is very important. Because exam scores will decide which university students will go to. And that is very important, because as many of you probably know, there is a strong hierarchy in Korean society, and the rank of University plays a significant role as well. And everyone tries to get admission to the high-ranked University. I didn’t take the American version of SAT nor the Korean one. So, I can’t tell you about it in detail. But my brother passed U

Getting Closer to Korean Aviation

It was a while since I took you with me on my trips around Korea. I have lots of photos, notes, and emotions that I want to share with you. And today I want to show you one of the museums, that I visited a couple of weeks ago. It is a National Aviation Museum of Korea that opened its doors just in July 2020. National Aviation Museum of Korea The museum is located in Seoul, right near the Gimpo Airport. So, if you will be around the Gimpo Airport, and have free time, visit the museum. It is free of charge, except for different activities that you can try in the museum. But most of them are not so expensive, around $1-3. At the entrance to the museum, you will meet a cute plane robot. It has a name but I don’t really remember… The museum looks small from the outside, however, there are 3 floors full of different exhibitions, rest zones, etc. 1st Floor of the museum We started from the very 1st floor. It is the largest hall I think. It starts with a history of world aviation. Visitors can
